After defeating the South Island Silvertips 7-1 not two days ago, it was a bit surprising to see Team Canada women’s hockey team lose 5-3 this past Saturday at Bear Mountain Arena.
But hey, it’s an exhibition game, right? Plus, it was way cool to see Hayley Wickenheiser there.
And yeah, if you know anything about me, right about now, you might be thinking this is some elaborate April Fool’s day prank, what with All Things Hockey suddenly permeating my phlog, but it’s all true.
I actually went to a hockey game (but hey, it’s Team Canada! And, if you spent any time watching the last Olympics, you know who Hayley Wickenheiser is) this past weekend. ‘course, I spent two innings shooting from behind the glass.
I’ll tell ya, it’s frickin’ LOUD when bodies come flying into the boards and you’re right on the other side. Yeesh.
And, as I’m not a sports photographer by any possible stretch of the imagination, this was the one half-decent shot out of the, oh, hundred or so I came home with.
=)
