Nailing the focus on this photo was double-tough. It took quite a few tries.

I had a spot down the slide picked out and, when I guessed her eyes would be level to it, I shot.

But, it’s not like I can just “reset the talent” and go again. Oh, no. I’ve got to slide down the slide myself, then follow her up the ladder again, position myself at the top right after she’s let go, pick a new spot, and take another shot.

Suffice it to say, I’m pretty freakin’ thrilled that I finally nailed it, and with this great expression, too.

This was taken at a recent trip to Tumblebums for li’l friend Dahim’s third birthday party.

The crowning moment of that party was when Dahim, so conditioned to blow out lit candles, watched intently as his papa lit the candle on his cake.

Papa got as far as singing “Haa–” when every trace of flame was extinguished with all speed.
