I place this shot here as a sort of “before” photo.
I’m not much for New Year’s resolutions, but January is indeed a good time to look down the road at things you’d like to accomplish.
I have many things on my list o’ photo goals, and one of them is to aspire to be even 1/10th as awesome as Terrance Lam.
I’ve known Terrance for years, and the long exposure stuff he shots is, IMHO, beyond compare. Dude had a showing of his stuff at the McPherson, and it was mind-blowing to see it larger than life (read: computer screen).
So, part of my self-directed growth as a shutterbud is to become comfortable shooting these kinds of dramatic Lamscapes (Get it? GET IT??!?), with special attention to his black card technique, which I’ll expound upon in future.
Time will tell if I succeed but, as a bit of a butt-kick to myself, I’m posting my starting point now.
=)
