For twelve years, The Zone has had a program to showcase a hardworking local band. It’s called Band of the Month.
Last year, the decision was made to bring all of the bands together over two nights for a celebration of local music at Upstairs Cabaret.

Geekytech gallery update: You may notice both a new camera body and lens in my Exif data. Not only did the camera gods shine down upon me with the 70D, but I sold my ultrawide Canon 10-22mm in favour of the amazing Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8.
The body has live autofocus in video mode, mega low noise at high ISO, and WiFi for instant beaming of photos from my camera to my phone for internetting. The lens has amazing construction (I like the weight), a silent motor, and f/1.8 throughout. It’s the perfect pairing, and will be my default gear combo for a long time to come.
Here’s a more in-depth review of (mostly) the lens.
