I find detail shots one of the many fun aspects of wedding photography.
I enjoy taking rings on a little tour of the area, letting them play with the flowers and table decorations, documenting the whole trip along the way.
This particular setting is the heavy ornate coffee table in the middle of the Presidential Suite at the Executive House Hotel.

As one of the more palpable moments of the ceremony, I felt particularly disruptive with the CLICK-SHNKT! of my camera.
But hey, gotta catch the moment.
Thankfully, I was actually in good company with the *fring!* startup sound of some cameras, the recorded *click-shnkt!* of others, and the great *CLICKT-whirrrrrrrr* of an awesome old blue plastic camera Julie’s Nana was taking photos with.

Steve and Julie cuddle around Julie’s daughter, Keira.
Just over Julie’s shoulder: the cord which rings the chapel bell! Isn’t that cool?
Keira and the other itty-bitty flowergirl, Jessica, got to pull it during the rehearsal and sound the bell, and were suitably tickled by the experienced, as anyone would be, I should hope!

I won’t lie to ya: it was cold out there.
At the reception, I corralled everyone on Steve’s side of the family out onto the balcony for a photo together and . . . it was cold out there.
After the photo was taken, everybody filed ran back inside, but Julie and Steve took a moment of their solitude for a quiet hug.
Did I mention it was cold out there? Yeah, check out Steve’s residual handprint on Julie’s arm.

Twice during my balcony sessions with the couple at the hotel, the owner of the hat, Geryd, appeared in front of my subjects, out of seemingly nowhere, shirt open, chest bared, JUST as I hit the shutter.
I take my eye off the viewfinder and, like NEEN-JAH . . . he’s gone.

As the reception wound down, I took the kids outside for a shot with this lovely ol’ tree, damn the cold.
And yeah. It was cold out there.
