YYJ Rocktographers 2015

The 1st birthday of YYJ Rocktographers kicks off this Friday. I hope you’ll join me there!

Almost 30 of my photografriends will have their concert photos showcased at Vic42 (660 Discovery Street, beside Discovery Coffee), curated and presented by the O.G. Rocktographer, my friend Tyson Elder.

He came up with the idea of showcasing local concert photographers’ work after seeing the work of an American photographer framed up all over a Seattle restaurant. A tonne of planning, hard work, organization, trial ‘n error, and learning resulted in this: the opening night of YYJ Rocktographers in 2014.

And here, from the second show, Adrian and Ben from Towers and Trees pose in front of my photo of their performance at the Hope for Hannah benefit concert.

YYJ Rocktographers (Facebook event link) runs January 16-19, but the opening on Friday is special in that there’ll be live music, beverages (tho’ the show is all-ages all weekend), and me. I’ll be working the door or floating around. Yeah, that’s it. Come to see me. =)

Friday night is a by-donation affair to recoup operating costs, otherwise it’s free-fer-nothin’ to peruse the gallery.

The show hours are: Friday 7:00–10:00 pm, Saturday noon–8:00 pm, Sunday & Monday noon–5:00 pm. Sunday will be fun ’cause there’ll be a portable turntable on hand to spin some vinyl. Bring your records! Just the good ones, though.

I sincerely hope to see you there to appreciate with me the amazing talent we have in this city.

=)
