Some bonus Friday photos ’cause whoopsie!
A barge full of crushed cars spent the afternoon tipping . . . tipping . . . until finally, it tipped to this degree, and a number of cars fell off and into the water.

It happened at about 3:00 pm. I was there at 6:00 pm. No stranger to veering off course to shoot weird stuff happening in the water, I joined the other looky-loos, along with police, fire department, Transport Canada, and cleanup folks in the Upper Harbour.

Unfortunately, with the addition of cars to the water, oil was soon on the surface.

Cleanup crews were hard at work, grabbing stuff with nets, or fishing it up with hooks on rope.

This part was tough to look at. Car parts scattered through the water, mixed in with the oil.
Were there a silver lining to this, it’s that it happened in a small bay off the main harbour and, hopefully, will be easier to contain and clean up.
