When my Pebble Time arrived, I knew, based on all I’d read about its easily-scratched bezel, that I’d want some kind of protection for it.
Being klutzy, paranoid, and a wild gesticulator, I didn’t follow the majority of folks in ordering an adhesive bezel skin. Oh no . . . I went all Terminator on my smartwatch and ordered a millimetre-thick plastic cover to give both the bezel and screen serious protection.
They call it Bepple (get it?), and it arrived today! In . . . a well-designed, but hilariously gigantic envelope.

Here’s what I received: a red and black Bepple cover and screen protector kit. I’m eschewing the latter for now in hopes that the height of the bezel cover suffices.

Here are the covers, ready to jump to the defense of my Pebble Time which, you can see, was in need of their services some months ago when I bumped it against a door, giving it character a scratch on the top of its head. My Smile64 face doesn’t seem to mind, though. =)

The cover snaps over the watch’s band post-holdy-thingies (shush; I don’t know watch lingo) easily and snug-like. It’s a very satisfying CLICK!

Here are the covers on my watch.

You may notice that you can no longer see the buttons on the sides of the watch, which I think is brilliant. I’ve somehow managed to accidentally depress buttons during my Time with it, and I believe this extra lip will prevent such accidental smooshes.

For the moment, I’m sticking with the black, as the red is a smidge on the light side for me (as well as being a little bumpy at the top and bottom, but I might try to file that down). I should’ve gone with lime green for some real impact. =)
I’ll switch it up in a bit and see if I can get used to it. For now, I’m down with the subtle and, for the most part, really happy with my Bepple. I give it 4.25 out of 5 toes!
Thanks for reading. We’ll return to our regularly-scheduled weekly photo-ness on Wednesday.
