I had the honour of shooting with Becca Carroll of Rivkah Photography as a last-minute second shooter replacement.

I almost exclusively have a second shooter with me at my weddings and, while I’ve always wanted to be a second shooter, my efforts to put myself out there to other photographers haven’t been successful . . . until now.

And boy, did I luck out for my first second. Incredible photographer, hilarious wedding party, and gorgeous couple. Meet Holly and Jordan(‘s back).

That Jordan was pretty high-maintenance. He required a crew of five attending to his every whim the entire time. 😉

Here’s the bride and her stunning ring, holding on to . . . wait, is that a bus??!?

YES! They totally took a BUS to their wedding. I absolutely loved this twist.

Post-wedding glow.

The kidlets at this wedding were a never-ending source of amusement. The young gentleman was such a reliable guardian for his younger charge.

Left: the girls, totally unposed. As they were headed to our next location, I simply called out, they all turned back, looking lovely.

Right: the boys, totally imagining themselves at the end of an ’80s TV show intro. Regrettably, we didn’t have the budget for a slow-motion explosion behind them.

Watching the ducks. Ducks are SO frickin’ fascinating when you’re 4.

A couple of moments in between portraits. Some moments are more interesting than others.

SELFIE! Okay, it’s totally not; I took that photo. Don’t tell anyone.

The dip.

One of the benefits of having a second is that the primary gets some good behind-the-scenes shots of them at work.

This was a great moment. Toward the end of the formals, Holly got to sit and enjoy the sky.

I cannot wait ’til my second second (second gig as a second shooter), and I can only hope it goes as well as this one did. Thanks to Holly, Jordan, and Becca for the good times!
