Sometimes, spending an hour freezing your butt off atop an overpass like Switch Bridge can net some not-bad results. =) =)
Miss Budweiser
It’s not every day you end up behind a rocket on your way in to work. So, naturally, I followed it. =) Catching up to it just as it reached the Coho ferry terminal, I snapped this shot of this hydroplane. Yes, the very same hydroplane boat as in the auction, heading to its new home in the states after …
dead pixel
R.I.P. dead pixel. Thanks to Tindy for the idea (“You should be a pixel!”), to Naomi for helping me mutilate said idea (” . . . a dead pixel!”), to Al and Joseph at Speedpro for putting it together, and to Phoenix at Speedpro for the dead emoticon brainwave. This has to be the most wonderfully silly, yet most appropriate …
street steam
Something you just don’t see every day. Well, not in this city. I’m told they were “burning off some sewage,” but I didn’t seem to expire from any horrid smells emanating with the smoke. Mind, I did keep a safe distance while shooting . . . =)
GITGO
Photos from a recent adventure in getting nature all over me camping. We declared ourselves GITGO: Gamers In The Great Outdoors. =) This was one patient woodland creature. Not only did it sit still while I got within inches, then centimetres, then millimetres of it, but it didn’t even move when my lens brushed its wing. Later, it allowed itself …
paws ‘n tail
Sitting with as much grace and poise as he can muster, kat Shaolin takes in the morning sun. For as much as he is a kat, and as much as kats are designed and built from the ground up to be awash with elegance and dignity, our li’l boyo is customarily the picture of dishevelment. As such, this photo captured …
Wildplay/dragonfly
Some scenes from the newly-opened WildPlay Adventure Parks at The Bungy Zone. =)
Brinly
Brinly — very accurately — tracks a crow flying in the distance. From a recent day of fun in Vancouver. It was pretty intimidating to be under this bird’s stare. Amputated right wing or no, I’m pretty sure I’d be on the screaming-like-a-little-baby end of a battle with her. Also, as owl’s eyes are shaped like tubes, rather than spheres …
careening
The view from the last car of a train careening out of control around a corner. Okay, so we were in Stanley Park, and probably topped out at 8 MPH. Details, details. =)
Gwendolyn
Young Miss Gwendolyn, celebrating her third birthday by enjoying ice cream cake with both her mouth and her cheek. This, by the way, took place right after an odd tradition which developed through her babyhood: placing her hand, palm down, onto the face of the cake presented to her. It’s so cute, I could just burst. =)
